Aloe Vera
A member of the Lily family, this anti-inflammatory botanical not only soothes and calms skin but is rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids, helping to boost cellular health and Collagen production.
Antioxidants
A group of ingredients that work to defend and protect against the impact of environmental damage on the skin caused by UV light, pollution and free radicals. Antioxidants can be natural or synthetic ingredients.
Argan Oil
Easily absorbed and high in vitamin E and fatty acids, Argan Oil is incredibly nourishing, helping to hydrate, soften and boost skin elasticity.
Avocado Oil
Containing powerful levels of Vitamins A, B1, B2 and D, as well as Omegas 3 and 9, Avocado Oil is high in antioxidants such as Vitamin E to help neutralise potentially damaging free radicals while hydrating, nourishing and revitalising the skin.
Allantoin
An excellent skin soother, Allantoin can either by extracted from the comfrey plant or produced synthetically. It’s an effective hydrator and its soothing and calming properties make it ideal for sensitive skin types or to help buffer any adverse effects from more active ingredients used in the same formulation.
Arnica
A plant extract and popular homeopathic remedy to treat bruising and inflammation, Arnica can help soothe skin, reduce puffiness and swelling.
Bakuchiol
Often referred to as a gentler form of Retinol, Bakuchiol is a natural antioxidant and anti-ager, proven to restore skin quality. It can even skin tone and brighten dullness, improve elasticity and reduce wrinkles.
Bamboo
A widely used natural plant extract, Bamboo has been proven to be a natural source of antioxidants with skin-soothing qualities.
Bearberry
Antioxidant Bearberry is believed to have a natural skin-brightening and pigment-fading effect thanks to its high concentration of melanin-inhibitor Arbutin. It’s often used as a gentler alternative to potentially irritating Hydroquinone.
Bilberry
Similar to the Blueberry, Bearberry is rich in antioxidants making it a great skin protector. It’s known to strengthen and support the skin against environmental damage and help reduce redness.
Caffeine

A renowned anti-inflammatory herb, Calendula has calming, soothing and antioxidant properties that can help with irritation and redness.
Camellia Oil
A non-greasy botanical oil rich in Vitamin A & E and essential fatty acids (Omegas 3,6,9) with high levels of antioxidants. Camellia Oil helps boost skin hydration and nourishment.
Candelilla Wax
A plant-derived emollient, Candelilla Wax is easily absorbed by the skin and helps to improve dryness and skin texture and leave skin feeling soft and smooth.
Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride
Derived from Coconut Oil and Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride contains nourishing fatty acids that help to replenish and rehydrate. A gentle emollient, it helps to resist moisture loss within the skin.
Castor Seed Oil
Rich in fatty acids and derived from the Castor Bean, Castor Seed Oil is known for its emollient properties and ability to bind moisture to the skin. It can also enhance the absorption of other ingredients in the same formulation.
Cetearyl Alcohol
Unlike irritating and drying forms of alcohol (like SD or Denatured Alcohols), Cetearyl Alcohol has long been known as gentle, safe and beneficial for the skin. Either naturally derived from Coconut Oil or made synthetically, it has skin-softening and smoothing properties and is also used to improve a product’s texture and skin feel.
Cetearyl Olivate
Another alcohol that’s considered safe to use on the skin, Cetearyl Alcohol contains fatty acids derived from Olive Oil that helps to bind ingredients together and give a smooth, silky skin feel.
Chamomile
Chamomile contains potent antioxidants proven to help soothe and calm the skin, making it ideal for sensitized, easily irritated skins.
Cocoa Butter

CoEnzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

Able to hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water, Hyaluronic Acid is an incredible skin hydrator, efficiently boosting and preserving the natural moisture content within the skin. It also boasts antioxidant defence against environmental assault.
Hemp Seed Oil
A MUSQ signature ingredient, Hemp Seed Oil is an excellent emollient that strengthens the skin’s surface against moisture loss. Rich in nutrients like essential fatty acids (Omegas 3 and 6), amino acids and antioxidant Vitamin E, this nutritious plant oil is highly nourishing and hydrating for the skin.
Honey
Another MUSQ signature, Honey has beneficial antibacterial and antioxidant properties, helping to soothe and soften the skin. It’s also loaded with amino acids, peptides and vitamins (A, C, E) that help to protect and preserve skin quality.
Jojoba Beads
Made from a biodegradable natural wax derived from Jojoba Oil, Jojoba Beads are used for their exfoliating, and rejuvenating effect; their round shape makes them more gentle and less abrasive against the skin. It’s important to note that Jojoba Beads are not Micro Beads which are commonly made of Polyethylene and are damaging to the environment.
Jojoba Oil
An emollient, non-fragrant oil, Jojoba Oil is a rich source of fatty acids, making it an excellent skin soother with restorative properties. Its texture is similar to sebum (which the body produces naturally) and it’s a lightweight, stable plant oil that’s easily absorbed by the skin.

Kakadu Plum
Often referred to as a super fruit and one of the most popular native ingredients used in skincare today, Kakadu Plum is one of the highest sources of antioxidant Vitamin C, which has been proven to have a revitalising effect on the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of UV damage while brightening and protecting the skin.
Kaolin
Rich in the mineral Kaolinite, this naturally occurring clay has good absorbent properties, making it particularly effective at helping to reduce excess oil on the skin. Kaolin is best suited to oily skins and is often found in detoxifying facial masks.
Lanolin
Another MUSQ signature, Lanolin is a natural emollient derived from the wool of sheep and is an incredibly effective emollient, helping to not only hydrate, smooth and soften skin but to offer important barrier protection against the elements. At our MUSQ farm, we use wool from non-mulsed sheep.
Lavender
A member of the mint family, Lavender contains free-radical fighting antioxidants and is considered to have anti-inflammatory and calming properties.
Liquorice Root
Best known for its ability to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and dark spots of pigment, Liquorice Root is also a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that can soothe and calm sensitivity and redness.
Lilly Pilly
This Australian native is a potent antioxidant, rich in skin-revitalising Vitamin C. Lilly Pilly is also believed to have anti-bacterial and exfoliating properties to encourage cellular renewal.
Lime
Known to be both antibacterial and antiseptic, Lime Oil also boasts antioxidant properties to help fight environmental damage.
Macadamia Nut
Another popular ingredient in skincare, the Macadamia Nut produces an oil that’s rich in Vitamin E and hydrating Squalene to reduce inflammation and hydrate and nourish the skin. Full of anti-ageing fatty acids and potassium, it’s helps skin to stay supple.
Meadowfoam
An edible plant oil with emollient and skin-softening properties, Meadowfoam has the highest concentration of long-chain fatty acids and research has shown it can help inhibit Collagen degradation.
Niacinamide
Also known as Vitamin B3, Niacinamide is a potent, multi-tasking antioxidant able to boost barrier protection, resilience and hydration, help skin bounce back from environmental damage and improve the appearance of enlarged pores and dull, uneven skin tone. An important ingredient for anti-ageing.
Olive Oil
Olive Oil is a very nourishing ingredient for the skin, particularly for drier types. Containing hydrating Squalene and the essential fatty acids (linoleic and palmitic acids) that dry skin needs, it also provides antioxidant protection to guard against environmental damage.
Orange Peel
Full of key minerals like Calcium, Potassium and Magnesium, Orange Peel can have an exfoliating and moisturising effect on the skin, helping to brighten and smooth skin tone and texture.
Pomegranate

An Australian native berry considered to be an indigenous super food, Tasmanian Mountain Pepper is believed to have greater antioxidant potential than the blueberry. A rich source of Vitamins C and E, it doesn’t just protect against environmental damage but can help to revitalise and refine skin tone and texture.
Tumeric
A popular and potent spice, Tumeric is rich in skin-beneficial antioxidants. It also contains Curcumin, proven for its ability to boost natural Hyaluronic Acid reserves, helping to increase and preserve hydration and improve skin texture.
