The phrase "anti-aging"  is frequently misused because it is a highly marketable phrase, and as there are no legal requirements regarding its use anyone can use it!  Skin will continue to age of course, but the concept of “anti-ageing” products within the professional beauty industry is that they will be able to minimise the appearance of the signs of aging by virtue of certain criteria being fulfilled.

There needs to be an omission of any ingredients that have an adverse effect on the skin. Typically, the synthetic ingredients added to most brands may be great preservatives or emulsifiers, but thin, irritate or block skin, or make it more prone to pigmentation and sun damage.
